Bereavement Support Officer Opportunities

We are seeking highly motivated and caring individuals to join our team as Bereavement Support Officers.

This role will involve providing emotional support to bereaved families, friends, and carers following the death of a loved one. You will work closely with a multi-agency team to provide support to clinical colleagues in discharging their duties in respect of death certification.

As a Bereavement Support Officer, you will be part of a 7-day roster with an extended day service available from 7 am to 7 pm, Monday to Friday. You will work across the Health Board on all matters relating to death and bereavement.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing emotional support to bereaved individuals.
  • Collaborating with a multi-agency team to provide support to clinical colleagues.
  • Effective communication with all grades of staff, including senior medical staff.
  • Ability to travel between sites in a timely manner.
  • Flexibility towards the needs of the service.
