Care After Death Support Opportunities

Welcome to Swansea Bay University Health Board, a leading provider of healthcare services in Wales.

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Care After Death Service. We are seeking highly motivated and flexible individuals to join our team as Care After Death Support Officers.

This role will involve providing immediate support to bereaved families, friends, and carers following the death of a loved one. You will work closely with a multi-agency team to provide support to clinical colleagues in discharging their duties in respect of death certification.

As a Care After Death Support Officer, you will be part of a 7-day roster with an extended day service available from 7 am to 7 pm, Monday to Friday. You will work across the Health Board on all matters relating to death and bereavement.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Report writing and formatting.
  • Data formatting and presentation.
  • Effective communication with all grades of staff, including senior medical staff.
  • Ability to travel between sites in a timely manner.
  • Flexibility towards the needs of the service.
