About the Role

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Physician in Renal Medicine to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our Renal Medicine department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist medical care to patients with renal conditions, including acute and chronic kidney disease.
  • Develop and implement enhanced clinical skills, particularly in the assessment and management of acutely ill patients.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver clinical and quality targets.
  • Contribute to the development of clinical pathways and guidelines.
  • Participate in teaching and training activities to support the development of junior doctors and other healthcare professionals.

Person Specification

  • MBBS, MBChB, or equivalent medical qualification.
  • MRCP.
  • Full Registration and a licence to practise with the General Medical Council (GMC).
  • Entry on the General Medical Council (GMC) Specialist Register via one of the following: Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR).
  • Basic life support.
