About the Role

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled Consultant Physician in Renal Medicine to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our clinical team, you will be responsible for providing specialty and general medical care to patients, supporting on-call in-patient ward cover, and developing enhanced clinical skills in the assessment and management of acutely ill patients.

Main Responsibilities

Key duties will include:

  • Providing clinical leadership and expertise in renal medicine
  • Supporting on-call in-patient ward cover and developing enhanced clinical skills
  • Working collaboratively with junior doctors, specialist nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care
  • Developing and implementing clinical and quality targets in partnership with clinical teams and stakeholders
  • Fostering excellent team-working skills and a professional attitude to work well in a multi-professional environment

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • MBBS, MBChB, or equivalent medical qualification
  • MRCP
  • Full Registration and a licence to practise with the General Medical Council (GMC)
  • Entry on the General Medical Council (GMC) Specialist Register via Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR)
