About the Role

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled Consultant Physician in Renal Medicine to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our clinical team, you will be responsible for providing specialist care to patients with renal conditions, working closely with junior doctors, specialist nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist care to patients with renal conditions, including assessment, diagnosis, and management of acute and chronic kidney disease.
  • Develop and implement enhanced clinical skills, particularly in the assessment and management of acutely ill patients.
  • Contribute to an out-of-hours on-call rota, providing support to in-patient ward cover and developing clinical skills in a dynamic environment.
  • Work collaboratively with the clinical team to deliver clinical and quality targets, agreed nationally and locally.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and carers, ensuring excellent communication and patient-centered care.

Person Specification

  • Essential:
    • MBBS, MBChB, or equivalent medical qualification.
    • MRCP.
  • Desirable:
    • MD, PhD, or equivalent.
