As a Social Worker with Achieving for Children, you will be part of a dynamic and friendly team that supports foster carers and promotes permanency for children in care. Your role will involve working with colleagues to provide a range of fostering services, including recruitment, assessment, training, and supervision/support. You will also undertake Form C assessments and special guardianship assessments.
Our Fostering service is expanding, and we are looking for someone who can work flexibly, has excellent communication skills, and can work collaboratively to achieve shared outcomes. The ideal candidate will have experience of building strong partnerships, maintaining relationships, and working with a range of professionals, especially foster carers. They will also have knowledge of statutory legislation and national policy drivers that affect children's services.
The successful candidate will have strong analytical and planning skills for assessing and reviewing children's needs and planning packages of care across a range of cases. They will be able to explain professional reasoning, judgements, and decision-making. Experience in presenting to fostering panels and completing annual review reports is also essential.
A full and valid driving licence and access to own transport are required, as well as a professional social work qualification, such as a CQSW or DipSW, or other relevant qualification recognised by Social Work England. An active Social Work England registration is also necessary.
We offer a competitive salary and a range of benefits, including 29 days annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing to 33 days after two years and 35 days after four years of Continuous Service.
