Child Protection Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Child Protection Specialist to join our team, working effectively to safeguard and promote the welfare of children in line with legislation and AfC policies and procedures.
As a Child Protection Specialist, you will be responsible for managing a caseload of children and young people subject to Child in Need and Child Protection plans, undertaking assessments, direct work, and interventions with them and their families.
Responsibilities:- Safeguard and promote the welfare of children in line with the Children Acts 1989 and 2004, Children and Families Act 2014, and working Together to Safeguard Children guidance.
- Carry a caseload and be responsible for assessment and planning for children and young people in compliance with casework objectives, statutory and departmental policy and procedural requirements.
- Undertake direct social work responsibilities as an allocated worker to the children and young people assigned, investigating concerns regarding a child or young person's safety or wellbeing.
- To ensure the provision of clear written reports to child protection conferences, reviews, planning meetings, and any other purpose as required.
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills, the ability to use evidence and professional judgement to make decisions, and a full understanding of the role and responsibilities of a Child Protection Specialist.
In addition, we expect all of our specialists to have a full and valid driving licence, access to own transport, a professional qualification recognised by Social Work England, and active registration with Social Work England.
About Our BenefitsWe offer a competitive salary of £35,000 - £40,000 per annum, plus benefits including:
