Prince Personnel, a leading recruitment agency based in Shrewsbury, is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join their team on a permanent contract. Located in a rural area on the West side of Shrewsbury, this role offers a unique blend of challenge and opportunity.
Job OverviewThis standalone position reports directly to the Finance Director and plays a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for all employees.
- Process end-to-end monthly payroll for employees with meticulous attention to detail.
- Maintain strict compliance with UK payroll legislation, tax laws, and regulations.
- Calculate and process statutory deductions, including PAYE, National Insurance, and pension contributions.
- Accurately update employee records, promptly addressing changes in employment status or role.
- Manage and reconcile time and attendance records with precision.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of payroll processing.
- Managing payroll-related inquiries from employees and providing clear guidance.
- Investigating and resolving any discrepancies or issues that may arise.
- Generating and analyzing payroll reports for Management KPI information.
- Completing payroll year-end transactions and assisting in the audit process.
To be considered for this role, applicants should possess:
- Proven experience working in a similar payroll capacity.
- In-depth knowledge of UK payroll regulations and taxation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and previous experience with Sage Payroll (though not essential).
