Senior Analysis Manager

As a key member of AXA XL's Science & Natural Perils team, you will collaborate with experienced scientists, catastrophe modellers, and actuaries to bring expert knowledge and scientific expertise into the (re)insurance decision-making process. Your primary focus will be on project management for Model Evaluation projects, using an internally developed framework.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform expert technical analysis for Catastrophe Model Evaluation projects, including each component of the catastrophe model and the overall loss calibration.
  • Liaise with internal scientists and actuaries to enable their expertise to be best used within projects.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations from evaluations to key stakeholders, including underwriters, actuaries, cat modellers, and senior management.
  • Support implementation of modelling solutions for technical pricing, accumulation management, business planning, and capital setting.
  • Build an external network within the catastrophe modelling industry to bring the latest research and developments into AXA XL's modelling practices.
Requirements:
  • Significant experience in managing projects and excellent multi-tasking skills.
  • Excellent communications skills, including report writing and ability to give presentations.
  • Ability to build a network with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Master's degree or equivalent in a numerate subject.
  • Very good SQL knowledge.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).
  • People management.
  • Programming/coding skills in SQL (essential), R (preferable), Power BI.
