Job Overview

Axcis Education Recruitment is seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to join a Special Educational Needs School in the West Midlands. The successful candidate will work with pupils with Autism/ASD, providing support and engagement in learning.

About the Role

This temporary position, with potential to go permanent, offers a competitive salary of £83 per day (PAYE, DOE). The school caters for pupils with Autism/ASD, ranging from Reception to Year 6, with severe ASD. The ideal candidate will have a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification or equivalent and experience with ASD.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supporting and engaging pupils with ASD in learning
  • Working alongside class teachers to ensure best outcomes for all pupils
  • Creating an inclusive learning environment ensuring pupil safety

Requirements

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification or equivalent
  • Experience with ASD and managing challenging behaviour
  • Up-to-date DBS on Update Service or willingness to pay £56
