We are seeking a Private Housing Officer to join our Environmental Health Team within Regulatory Services at We Manage Jobs (WMJobs). As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering a quality service to residents on issues related to private housing, including nuisance and environmental crime regulations.

The successful candidate will possess an excellent working knowledge of private sector housing legislation and proven experience in a housing enforcement or regulatory capacity. You will be skilled in the effective use of our powers under the Housing Act 2004 and the Housing and Planning Act 2016, with the ability to make optimum use of civil penalties, rent repayment orders, and licensing powers to improve conditions and make a real and lasting difference to people's lives.

This role requires a high level of motivation, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders. As part of the team, you will be expected to deputise and support the management functions of the Team Leader.

About the Job Description

As a Private Housing Officer, you will be responsible for enforcing standards and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation. This involves conducting site visits, providing guidance and advice to property owners, and taking enforcement action when necessary. You will also support the development of policies and procedures to improve the delivery of our services.
