Environmental Health Officer Role
Rugby Borough Council seeks an experienced and dedicated Environmental Health Officer to join its dynamic team. As part of the Environmental Health Team within Regulatory Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a quality service on issues related to environmental health, including supporting wider activities such as nuisance and environmental crime regulations.

About the Position
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional to make a real difference in the community. The successful candidate will have an excellent working knowledge of private sector housing legislation, enabling them to make optimum use of civil penalties, rent repayment orders, and licensing powers to improve conditions and make a lasting impact on people's lives.

What We Offer
The council offers a competitive salary, estimated to be around £32,000-£38,000 per annum, depending on experience. Additionally, we provide a range of benefits, including 35 days annual leave (including 8 Bank Holidays and 3 extra days normally applied at Christmas), a generous Local Government Pension Scheme, flexi-time scheme, annual leave purchase scheme, subsidised parking, and more.

Requirements
  • Excellent working knowledge of private sector housing legislation
  • Proven experience in a housing enforcement or regulatory capacity
  • Ability to make optimum use of civil penalties, rent repayment orders, and licensing powers
