Waste Services Operations Director

Rugby Borough Council is seeking a strategic Waste Services Team Manager to oversee critical regulated services directly enhancing the community's cleanliness, safety, and sustainability.
About the RoleThis position involves leading essential services like household and commercial waste collections, street cleansing, bulky waste, and Council fleet operations. Overseeing the Street Scene Engineering Department, you will manage street works, resurfacing projects, and fleet compliance.
Main Responsibilities- Lead high-impact services in waste, transport, and street scene operations
- Manage team performance, budgets, and regulatory compliance
- Drive innovation and efficiency in waste management and transport
- Ensure top standards in safety, customer service, and regulatory requirements
We seek a strategic leader with experience in waste or environmental services, strong regulatory knowledge, and a proven record in managing people and budgets. Excellent communication skills, commitment to public service, and the ability to lead change are essential.
