Walker & Watts Ltd is a leading construction company in Scotland, seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee and manage all site operations from project inception to final completion. The successful candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring efficient and effective project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage the day-to-day activities of site operatives, subcontractors, and construction work to ensure timely completion and client satisfaction.
  2. Foster strong relationships with clients through regular meetings, progress updates, and ensuring their needs are met at all stages of the project.
  3. Develop and implement comprehensive safety documentation, including Health and Safety Plans, Method Statements, and Risk Assessments.
  4. Oversee the procurement of materials using established computer-based systems, ensuring timely delivery and cost efficiency.
Reporting Structure:
  1. Direct Reports to project manager.
  2. Compliance with industry regulations.
  3. Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) management.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • A relevant qualification in Construction, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline is desirable but not essential.
  • CITB Site Managers Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) certification is highly valued.
  • Temporary Works Supervisor qualification is also required.
  • The ideal candidate will have a proven background in the construction and electricity sectors, with hands-on experience in substation work.
  • Competence in working with substations up to 132kV is essential.
  • Familiarity with NEC forms of contract and contractual frameworks is also necessary.
  • Strong knowledge of current Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation is required.
  • Proficiency in IT, particularly Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), is essential.
  • A full, valid UK driving license is mandatory.

The salary for this role is estimated to be around £50,000-£60,000 per annum, depending on experience.
