Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Care and Support Specialist to join our team at Barnardo's. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and support to children and young people in our residential settings.

About the Role

  • Provide personalized care and support to each child and young person, ensuring their physical, emotional, and psychological needs are met.
  • Work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans that promote independence, confidence, and life skills.
  • Contribute to creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment that fosters a sense of community and belonging.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of each child's progress, including their health, education, and social well-being.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in areas such as safeguarding, first aid, and de-escalation techniques.
  • Collaborate with external agencies, such as social workers and healthcare professionals, to ensure seamless support and transition planning for each child.

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent in a relevant field (e.g., social work, psychology, education).
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with children and young people in a residential setting.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection policies.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of £32,000 - £37,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including:

Location
