Join us at Look Ahead Care Support and Housing as a Support Worker in our Mental Health service based in Redbridge.

We are looking for a dedicated individual to work with our customers who require mental health support. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to build positive relationships with our customers.

The role includes shift working, including weekends, evenings and bank holidays. We offer a competitive salary of £27,352.00 per annum, which is a 40 hour working week. Benefits include 25 days Annual Leave, pension schemes, staff discounts, healthcare and career progression.

About the Role

This position requires an individual who is fundamentally calm and resilient, with high levels of self-esteem. You should be confident and able to communicate effectively with customers, colleagues and other stakeholders.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Building supportive relationships with customers
  • Working proactively with the team to handle caseloads and administrative tasks
  • Conducting key work sessions to achieve customer goals
  • Ensuring ongoing risk assessment and management within the service
  • Providing practical assistance to customers with daily living activities
  • Managing customer referrals, assessments and paperwork

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Up to NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent experience in the social care/charity sector
  • An ability to cope positively with challenging and diverse behaviours
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
