Role Overview
Aston Education is collaborating with a highly regarded Ofsted Good 11-18 secondary school in Lewisham, Southeast London, to find a dedicated and experienced Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENDCO). This full-time permanent position will involve leading the development and support of SEND provision for children with special educational needs and disabilities across the ages of 11-18 years.

The ideal candidate will have experience working as a SENDCO in a mainstream secondary school and hold the National Award for SEN Co-ordination (NASENCO) qualification, along with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). They will be responsible for working closely with the Senior Leadership Team to implement strategies that cater to the diverse needs of students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead the school's SEND provision, ensuring it meets the needs of pupils with special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Collaborate with teachers, teaching assistants, and other stakeholders to create inclusive learning environments.
  • Provide guidance and support to parents and carers on matters related to SEND.
