Diverse Inclusive School SENDCo Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and passionate SENDCo to join our team at Wayman Learning Trust, a diverse and inclusive primary school in Southwark. The successful candidate will take a leadership role in managing SEN provision across the school ensuring that students with special educational needs receive the support and guidance they require.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in SEN leadership within a primary school setting and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will be able to collaborate effectively with staff, parents, and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student support.

About the Role

This is a full-time permanent position that requires the candidate to lead the SEN team and coordinate support for students with additional needs. The salary for this role is £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Responsibilities
  • Developing individualized education plans (IEPs) and monitoring student progress.
  • Supporting and training staff on best practices for teaching children with special educational needs.
  • Collaborating with parents, teachers, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
  • Providing leadership and guidance to the SEN team.
Requirements
  • A qualified SENDCo with the National Award for SEN Coordination or working towards it.
  • Strong experience in SEN leadership within a primary school setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A clear DBS check and legal right to work within the UK.
