Mental Health Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Mental Health Specialist to join our team at the NHS. As a Clinical Associate Psychologist, you will play a vital role in improving the mental health of people within our agreed locality.
Your primary responsibilities will include undertaking specialized psychological assessments, contributing to bespoke clinical formulations, delivering structured, evidence-based, and psychologically informed interventions, and undertaking agreed research activity. You will work autonomously on a day-to-day basis under supervision from a registered Practitioner Psychologist and within the scope of practice set out within the Apprenticeship Standard for Clinical Associate Psychologists and your own training.
Main Duties of the Job- Improve the mental health of people within the agreed locality by undertaking specialized psychological assessments, contributing to bespoke clinical formulations, delivering structured, evidence-based, and psychologically informed interventions, and undertaking agreed research activity.
- Work autonomously on a day-to-day basis under supervision from a registered Practitioner Psychologist and within the scope of practice set out within the Apprenticeship Standard for Clinical Associate Psychologists and your own training.
- Oversee and review clinical work regularly through supervision provided by an HCPC registered Practitioner Psychologist (other qualified healthcare professionals may also contribute to supervision as deemed appropriate by the relevant Strategic Lead for Psychology and Psychological Therapies).
- Post-graduate level knowledge of applied psychological theory and research within the relevant area of practice (Adult Mental Health)
- Awareness of the range of presentations within the relevant area of practice and of the common multi-disciplinary services offered
- Awareness and understanding of professional level/requirements of role
The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and working relationship skills, including the ability to engage with clients experiencing a wide range of mental health problems. They will be able to work effectively under supervision but independently on a day-to-day basis.
