Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join Devon County Council as a Health Visitor/School Nurse Leader, playing a crucial role in improving the health and wellbeing of children and families in our community.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will lead and manage a team of Health Visitors and School Nurses, working closely with corporate teams to deliver the Healthy Child Programme (HCP) 0-19.

The role involves working in close partnership with community, voluntary and statutory agencies, focusing on safeguarding children and reducing health inequalities.

Person Specification

  1. Qualification in Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (Health Visitor/School Nurse)

  3. Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding procedures
  4. Proficient in health needs assessment, evaluation and action planning
