Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced leader to join our team as a Driver Team Manager for our hygiene services. This role plays a pivotal part in guiding a team of colleagues to achieve their regional goals and service levels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leading a small team of driver colleagues, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure high levels of performance and productivity.
  • Implementing ongoing training initiatives to keep team members updated on new products, customer requirements, best practices, and company policies.
  • Oversight of the team's area, including day-to-day operations, resolving issues, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Supporting the recruitment of new drivers, including sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, completing observation days, and onboarding new team members.
  • Responding to urgent customer requests as directed by the scheduling team or management team, which may involve working extra hours.
  • Conducting comprehensive induction training for new team members, ensuring they have the necessary knowledge and skills to excel in their roles.
Requirements
  • Previous training/coaching experience is desirable.
  • Excellent Service Delivery and Driving skills are essential.
  • Able to work effectively with Managers, Drivers, HR, L&D, and Health and Safety Teams.
  • To abide by and communicate/demonstrate Health and Safety regulations and COSHH, including always wearing appropriate protective clothing.
  • Demonstrates resilience and ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • A full UK manual Driving License for a minimum of 12 months (subject to insurance requirements), with a maximum of 6 points.
  • The successful candidate will need to meet the requirements of an enhanced DBS check.
  • Due to the nature of waste handled and customers serviced, it is mandatory for drivers to have vaccinations against Hepatitis B, tetanus/polio.
