About the Role

Glasgow Life is seeking a highly skilled Archivist to join our team on a full-time permanent contract. As an Archivist, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our vast collections of historical records and archives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain the City Archives and Records Management service, ensuring the highest standards of customer care and professionalism.
  • Work closely with the Senior Archivist and the team to deliver archives and records management on behalf of the City Council.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve access to and engagement with our collections, ensuring they are preserved for future generations.
  • Collaborate with other teams within Glasgow Life to deliver innovative cultural and sporting programmes and events.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to archives and records management.
Requirements
  • Post-graduate qualification in Archives and Records Administration or a related field.
  • Thorough knowledge of the theory and practice of all aspects of archives and records management.
  • Experience of working in a searchroom and awareness of current archival issues.
  • Professional commitment to ensuring the service meets the highest standards of customer care.
  • Highly motivated, good team worker, and well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
