About the Role

Venesky Brown's client, a public sector organization, is seeking an experienced Information Governance Manager to lead their strategic information and records management initiatives. This is a 6-month contract with potential for extension, offering a competitive rate of circa £300/day (Outside of IR35).

This role will involve a hybrid of working from home and in the office, providing a great work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of the organization's Information Management Strategy, Records Management Plan, and Business Classification Scheme.
  • Review and maintain records management policies, including Vital Records, Records Management, Data, Disposal, Appraisal, and Storage of Physical Records.
  • Design and deliver records management training materials to ensure effective knowledge sharing.
  • Act as the organization's lead business user for the Electronic Document and Records Management System (EDRMS), overseeing upgrades and functionality development.
  • Represent the organization on the EDRMS Multi-Authority Group, ensuring collaboration and best practices.
  • Provide specialist input on information management for transformation programs and services, ensuring compliance with business-as-usual activities.
  • Attend Joint Architecture Board and Business Development Board meetings to provide information management insights.
  • Chair and manage the Information Asset Board and Records Management Sub-Group, driving strategic decision-making.
  • Oversee the organization's network of Senior Information Managers and Liaison Managers, providing guidance and support.
  • Custodian of the Publication Scheme Guide to Information, Business Classification Scheme, and corporate file plan, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Lead contact for Internal Audit on information management-related audits, ensuring seamless collaboration.
  • Implement data audits across key applications and systems to ensure adherence to data policies.
  • Develop and support the organization's Data Quality Policy, including the Data Steward network and relevant training.
  • Assist the organization in achieving ISO accreditation for data quality (ISO 8000) or similar.
  • Promote good data practice, such as the use of Unique Property Reference Numbers (UPRN) across all systems, and monitor compliance.
  • Provide guidance on surfacing and making data available/open across the organization and with partners.
  • Develop and maintain policies to support Microsoft 365 functionality deployment, including usage guidelines, retention periods, and size limits.
  • Monitor M365 functionality usage to ensure policy adherence.
