Information Governance Manager

Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation, is seeking an experienced Information Governance Manager to lead strategic information and records management initiatives. This is a 6-month contract with potential to extend, offering a competitive rate of circa. £300/day (Outside of IR35).
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of the organisation's Information Management Strategy, Records Management Plan, and Business Classification Scheme.
- Review and maintain records management policies, including Vital Records, Records Management, Data, Disposal, Appraisal, and Storage of Physical Records.
- Design and deliver records management training materials to support organisational knowledge and skills.
- Provide strategic input on Electronic Document and Records Management Systems (EDRMS) upgrades and functionality development.
- Represent the organisation on the EDRMS Multi-Authority Group and contribute to Joint Architecture Board and Business Development Board discussions.
- Chair and manage the Information Asset Board and Records Management Sub-Group, overseeing the network of Senior Information Managers (SIMs) and Local Information Managers (LIMs).
- Custodian of the Publication Scheme Guide to Information, Business Classification Scheme, and corporate file plan, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
- Lead contact for Internal Audit on Information Management-related audits and implement data audits across key applications/systems.
- Develop and maintain the organisation's Data Quality Policy, supporting the Data Steward network and relevant training.
- Promote good data practice, monitor compliance, and provide guidance on data availability and sharing.
- Develop and maintain policies to support Microsoft 365 functionality deployment, ensuring adherence to data policies and monitoring usage.
