We provide a comprehensive range of healthcare services, including acute hospital care, primary care, community services, and mental health support to a diverse population.

As part of our commitment to improving work-life balance, NHS Scotland is transitioning to a reduced full-time working week of 37 hours, effective from April 2024. This change will also apply proportionately to part-time staff. Please note that some service areas may require temporary adjustments to working hours during this transition.

The typical shift pattern for this role involves working Thursday and Friday in the first week, followed by Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday in the second week. Please be aware that the salary is calculated on a pro-rata basis for part-time hours.

This position may close earlier than anticipated due to the volume of applications received. We encourage interested candidates to submit their applications promptly.

This role does not qualify for a Skilled Worker visa or a Health and Care Worker visa, and NHS Scotland is unable to provide a Certificate of Sponsorship.

The primary objective of this role is to enhance clinical operations by delivering a reliable Health Records service within a ward setting. You will be responsible for ensuring that patient health records are accurately managed and maintained with confidentiality.

The successful candidate will provide support across multiple wards as needed, performing various tasks including patient reception, telephone inquiries, appointment scheduling, and maintaining patient demographic information within the management system.

  • Previous experience in clerical or reception roles is essential, along with a background in customer service.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and keyboard skills are required, as well as proficiency in computer systems.

This is a permanent position, and while the initial base will be within the organization, flexibility to work at different locations may be necessary.

NHS Scotland values diversity and encourages applications from all community sectors. We are committed to fostering an inclusive workplace and recognize the importance of a varied workforce.

As a Forces Friendly Employer, NHS Scotland supports applications from the Armed Forces Community, valuing military skills and experience throughout the recruitment process.
