Research Leader in Cancer Epidemiology

The University of Bristol seeks a highly skilled researcher to lead a substantial programme of research on genetic epidemiology applied to cancer aetiology, mechanisms, and progression. The successful candidate will develop and deliver a portfolio of research with translational potential, building links to realise these activities. They will secure substantial research funding and critically interpret findings to disseminate through high-quality academic publications and conferences.
Key Responsibilities
Lead genetic epidemiological research of population health relevance, focusing on cancer aetiology, mechanisms, and molecular risk prediction/stratification and progression.
Develop and deliver a portfolio of research with translational potential, building links to realise these activities.
Secure substantial research funding from publicly funded research funding agencies, charities, and other relevant organisations.
Critically interpret findings and disseminate through high-quality academic publications, conferences, and other forms of dissemination that lead to impact.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have a depth and breadth of knowledge in cancer epidemiology and population health science, with experience of leading and conducting high-quality genetic and/or molecular epidemiology. They must have evidence of leading research proposal development, a record of winning grant funding, and a strong publication record.
