London, Greater London, United Kingdom Imperial College London Full time

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to work on a Cancer Research UK-funded project to identify molecular mechanisms linking adiposity to pancreatic cancer risk.

You will apply genetic epidemiological methods, including Mendelian randomization and colocalization, to understand key molecular intermediates linking excess adiposity to pancreatic cancer risk across diverse cohort studies.

You will be part of a collaborative research team based at the School of Public Health at Imperial College London, working closely with researchers at the Universities of Bristol and Oxford, and the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC). This role provides the opportunity to conduct a research visit at IARC in Lyon, France.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and conducting analyses for the project under the supervision of your line manager and with regular contact with other collaborators.
  • Presenting findings to colleagues internally and submitting findings to conferences and peer-reviewed journals.
  • Contributing to the supervision of postgraduate students and undergraduate research projects.

Requirements include:

  • A PhD in Epidemiology, Data Science, Medical Statistics, or a closely related discipline.
  • Experience of statistical analysis of big data and/or health data and a record of prior publications in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Strong coding skills and prior experience using genetic and/or molecular epidemiological methods are highly desirable.

This is a full-time, fixed-term role based at the White City Campus. Hybrid working may be considered for this role.
