Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Solicitor to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in commercial law and experience in advising on life sciences-related activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide timely, proactive, and commercial legal advice and solutions to the organisation.
  • Develop a strong understanding of our business areas and build excellent working relationships across the organisation.
  • Oversee the reviewing, drafting, and negotiating of legal agreements related to collaborative research and intellectual property.
  • Line manage and mentor staff within the legal team, ensuring delivery of operational goals and service excellence.
  • Promote the team and its role within the organisation and among stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Degree-level qualification in law with relevant qualification as a solicitor or barrister.
  • Significant experience in an in-house or private practice role.
  • Excellent working knowledge of commercial law and best practice; intellectual property law (particularly patents).
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership behaviours and propose and constructively critique ideas for the better management of the legal team and the organisation as a whole.
