Commercial & Marketing Director - Arena Operations Lead

OVO Arena Wembley is one of the UK's most iconic venues, boasting a rich history dating back to its days as the Empire Pool and Sports Arena. With a capacity of 12,500, the arena has witnessed some of the biggest names in music take the stage, including Queen, The Rolling Stones, and ABBA.
Job OverviewWe are seeking an accomplished Commercial & Marketing Director to lead our commercial and marketing teams in achieving ambitious targets and driving growth. As a key member of the senior management team, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing strategies to maximize revenue from commercial, hospitality, and premium sales.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with the VP & General Manager to develop and implement a comprehensive strategy that ensures all budgeted targets for the Commercial and Marketing teams are met.
- Lead premium and off-manifest income campaigns to maximize sales across club seats, terrace suites, and lounges.
- Oversee venue C&E (Conferences & Events) activity for the Commercial team, working closely with the central C&E team and Destination Wembley to maximize income from arena events.
- Work with the Commercial team and stakeholders to optimize revenue from rooms and areas on non-arena event days.
- In conjunction with the Marketing Manager, implement a marketing strategy to maximize venue sales and income across all areas.
- Provide comprehensive marketing support to event hirers, maximizing social media engagement, exploiting PR opportunities, and continuing the first-time award program for new headliners.
- Manage and develop strong working relationships with Levy Restaurants, the in-house caterers, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Manage and nurture the relationship with merchandise concessionaire, National Merchandise, to optimize revenue streams.
- As a member of the senior management team, actively participate in key venue initiatives, including the development and execution of the venue's sustainability program.
- Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring all guests leave with outstanding memories.
- Proven track record in commercial and marketing leadership, preferably in events, hospitality, or venue management.
- Strong strategic planning skills, with a focus on revenue growth and operational efficiency.
- Experience managing stakeholder relationships and partnerships to support business objectives.
- Proficiency in marketing strategy development, including digital marketing, social media, and PR.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
