Job Summary:
Bell Cornwall Recruitment is seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team in Wolverhampton. As a key member of the accounting department, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting financial reports, managing ledgers, and performing banking and cash management tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and present accurate and timely financial reports, including management accounts, profit & loss statements, and balance sheets.
- Account Management: Manage the purchase ledger, including purchasing orders, invoicing, reconciliations, and payment processing. Maintain the sales ledger, encompassing invoice creation, credit control, reconciliations, and customer communication.
- Banking and Cash Management: Process bank transactions, reconcile statements, and manage employee expenses. Submit VAT returns and maintain a fixed asset register with depreciation postings.
- Cash Flow Management: Compile payroll data for external consultants, submit payments to HMRC, and manage cash flow projections.
- Intercompany Discrepancies: Resolve intercompany discrepancies and balance sheet mismatches.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Professional Qualification: Minimum 2 years of experience in a comparable role is mandatory. AAT certification is ideal.
- Technical Skills: SAP proficiency is highly desirable.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication skills are vital for effective client and colleague interactions.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, numeracy, and literacy are essential.
