Role Overview

University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Band 6 Neonatal Nurse to lead our neonatal services. As a Clinical Lead, you will be responsible for coordinating shifts, managing the care of neonatal conditions, and developing staff. The successful candidate will have recent experience at senior staff nurse level within neonatal nursing and evidence of clinical competence in neonatal nursing skills.

The estimated salary for this role is £39,649 - £49,048 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. The position requires a Registered Children's Nurse, Registered Nurse, or Registered Midwife qualification, as well as a teaching and assessing qualification.

About the Trust

We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital, Royal Lancaster Infirmary, and Westmorland General Hospital - providing a range of general hospital services, including Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units, and Consultant-led services. Our community services are provided in people's homes, community centres, clinics, GP Practices, community hospitals, and main hospitals. We aim to work with people to help them remain independent, improve their health, and manage their conditions through high-quality care, advice, and support.

• Coordinate shifts and manage the care of neonatal conditions, including intensive, high dependency, and special care.
• Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and staff development.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide family-centred care and promote positive team-based attitudes.
• Contribute to on-going learning and development, embracing positive change and transformation.

Person Specification

• Registered Children's Nurse, Registered Nurse, or Registered Midwife qualification.
• Teaching and assessing qualification.
• Recent experience at senior staff nurse level within neonatal nursing.
• Evidence of clinical competence in neonatal nursing skills.
• Ability to make clinical decisions and manage the care of neonatal conditions.
• Demonstrate ability to obtain and evaluate information to aid decision making and develop others in this area.
• IT skills, including word processing, email, and internet.
