About the Role

The Director of Financial Regulatory Policy and Governance will be responsible for developing and analysing the bank's financial and regulatory policies and interpretations, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, internationally agreed standards, and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and assess financial policies, standards, and associated controls governing the bank's statutory and regulatory reporting obligations.
  • Manage the implementation of financial and regulatory policies across the bank's departments and business units.
  • Provide guidance on the interpretation and application of policies to employees.
  • Communicate financial and regulatory policies to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  • Develop and deliver training programs on financial and regulatory policies.
  • Manage communication with regulatory authorities to gain insights into upcoming regulatory changes.

Requirements

  • Significant input to function-wide strategic initiatives.
  • Manage a business function, leading a large team or sub-function.
  • Provide expert advice to senior functional management and committees.
  • Manage, coordinate, and enable resourcing, budgeting, and policy creation for a significant sub-function.
  • Foster and guide compliance, ensuring regulations are observed.
  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of the function's integration with the business division/group.
  • Maintain broad and comprehensive knowledge of industry theories and practices.
