Job Description

Barclays is seeking a Senior Finance Regulatory Policy Governance Lead to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and analyzing the bank's financial and regulatory policies and interpretations, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, internationally agreed standards, and regulations.

This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills to effectively manage the implementation of financial and regulatory policies across the bank's departments and business units.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and assess financial policies, standards, and associated controls that govern the bank's statutory and regulatory reporting obligations, as well as analyze financial data and industry trends to identify areas for policy improvement or revision.
  2. Manage the implementation of financial and regulatory policies across the bank's departments and business units, providing support to employees on the interpretation and application of policies.
  3. Review evolving laws, regulations, and regulatory guidance affecting the bank's operations and assess their impact on the bank's business activities, financial performance, and risk profile.
  4. Communicate financial and regulatory policies to relevant stakeholders in a clear and concise manner, developing and delivering training programs to ensure employee understanding and adherence.
Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, preferably with advanced qualifications or certifications in finance and regulation.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in finance, accounting, or a related field, preferably in a leadership or management role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with financial regulations, laws, and standards, as well as the ability to stay up-to-date with changes and developments in these areas.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
