Job Description

Our client, a housing association in Yorkshire, is seeking a motivated Income Officer to join their team. This role involves maximising income for the organisation while supporting customers to sustain their tenancies.

About the Role

The successful candidate will play an integral part in the collection of income and prevention of arrears escalation, providing excellent customer service throughout. Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the team in managing arrears recovery and income collection to ensure financial sustainability for the organisation.
  • Working closely with tenants to assess their financial situation, providing pre-tenancy assessments and supporting early interventions to prevent arrears.
  • Advising tenants on available benefits and supporting them in accessing welfare benefits to maximise their income and sustain their tenancy.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you should have demonstrable experience in a similar position, specifically in income and arrears collection and providing a customer-focused service. A strong knowledge of welfare benefits, income recovery strategies, and best practices in housing management is also essential.
