Housing Benefit Assessment Role

This position involves assessing entitlement for Housing Benefit, Council Tax Support, and discretionary funds. The successful candidate will work in accordance with statutory provisions and local policies, ensuring accurate and efficient assessments.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Assess applications and calculate entitlement in accordance with legislation and local policies.
  2. Investigate and process changes of circumstances, reviewing ongoing entitlement as required.
  3. Determine overpaid amounts of benefit and initiate recovery action.
  4. Advise on discretionary fund applications and identify potential fraud or abuse.
