About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Development Manager to join our team at Johnson Controls International. As a Fire Solutions Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to drive sales growth and revenue expansion in the colocation data center market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including consulting engineers, design & build contractors, and colocation operators, to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitor activity, and customer needs, and use this information to inform sales strategies and tactics.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, marketing, and product development, to ensure alignment and effective execution of sales strategies.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Johnson Controls' fire solutions portfolio and be able to effectively communicate the value proposition to customers.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including developing and executing sales plans and strategies to drive revenue growth.
  • Provide regular updates and insights to management on sales performance, market trends, and customer needs.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry standards, building codes, and regulations, and ensure that Johnson Controls' fire solutions meet or exceed customer expectations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Engineering, Business, or relevant experience.
  • Proven track record of consistently achieving sales targets in a B2B environment.
  • Ability to adapt and flex while working on influencing and guiding customers with a consultative approach that will enable them to choose the best solution.
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment as an individual contributor.
  • Fluent language skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Five (5) years of experience selling fire solutions within the data centers industry.
  • An existing network/relationships within the data centers industry (consulting engineers, contractors and colocation operators), specifically around OFCI/CFCI programs.
  • Experience communicating effectively across multiple cultures.
