Job Overview

The Swansea Bay University Health Board is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join their multidisciplinary team. As a key member of the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), you will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical care to children and adolescents with mental health needs.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing comprehensive assessments and treatment plans for children and adolescents with mental health needs
  • Working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to deliver effective care
  • Developing and implementing evidence-based treatments and interventions
  • Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings and contributing to service development
  • Providing education and training to junior staff and students

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Registration with the GMC as a specialist in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry or eligibility for CCT within 6 months
  • Experience of working in a CAMHS setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and cope with competing demands
