Job Overview

The Swansea Bay University Health Board is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join their team as a Locum Consultant. The successful candidate will work within the multidisciplinary community Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) and will be responsible for providing high-quality care to children and adolescents with mental health needs.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing clinical leadership and expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of children and adolescents with mental health needs
  • Working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective treatment plans
  • Providing training and education to other healthcare professionals on child and adolescent mental health
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the quality of care provided to children and adolescents

Requirements

To be successful in this role, the candidate will need to have:

  • Registration with the GMC as a specialist in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry or eligibility for CCT within 6 months of the date of interview
  • Experience of working in a CAMHS setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and cope with competing demands
