Job Description

The Merchant Taylors' School is seeking an experienced Head of Facilities Management and Maintenance to lead its facilities management team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled professional to make a real difference in the school community.

About the Role

This is a full-time position, working 40 hours per week, with a starting salary of £60,000 per annum. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the maintenance and refurbishment of over 60,000 square metres of school buildings, ensuring that they are safe, efficient, and well-maintained.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate the work of external contractors to maintain and improve the school buildings
  • Oversee the routine maintenance and repair of school buildings, plant, and infrastructure
  • Plan and conduct the school's long-term cyclic maintenance programme
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A recognised professional qualification in facilities management, construction management, or a related field
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in facilities management or a related role, preferably in an educational or similar environment
  • Proven track record of managing building maintenance and refurbishment projects
  • Familiarity with building codes and regulations, as well as general IT skills for reporting and documentation
