Specialist SEN Teacher Position

We are working closely with a Pupil Referral unit in Lichfield to find an SEN Teacher who can support students transitioning from Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 3.

The successful candidate will be part of the teaching team, aiming to not only teach but also support emotional regulation, wellbeing, and access to learning.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Deliver the curriculum to all students, adjusting material as needed to suit specific needs.
  2. Create and prepare engaging lessons.
  3. Accountable for student attainment and progress.
  4. Establish a safe, purposeful, and stimulating environment, prioritizing mutual respect.
  5. Previous experience working with emotional regulation and positive behaviour/de-escalation strategies is essential.
  6. A qualification equivalent to a degree in a specialist subject or related field is required.
  7. The ideal candidate will use a therapeutic approach to teaching.
  8. Experience with SEMH, Trauma, Sensory processing, and social communication teaching backgrounds is preferred.
