Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Geriatrician to join our team at Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a Geriatrician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to older patients, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in Geriatric Medicine, with experience in managing complex cases and developing effective care plans. You will be responsible for leading ward rounds, participating in clinical governance, and contributing to the development of our services.

Main Duties

As a Geriatrician at Dorset County Hospital, you will be involved in a range of activities, including:

  • Leading ward rounds and developing care plans for older patients
  • Participating in clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives
  • Contributing to the development of our services, including the design and implementation of new care pathways
  • Working closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes

Person Specification

The successful candidate will have:

  • A strong background in Geriatric Medicine, with experience in managing complex cases and developing effective care plans
  • Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice
  • Entry on the GMC Specialist Register via CCT (proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of interview) or CESR
  • Experience in stroke and thrombolysis
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships and team working
  • Knowledge of and direct involvement in audit and research
