Job Overview

Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Geriatrician to join our team. As a Geriatrician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to older patients, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and participating in the delivery of services for older people, including front-door frailty and elderly trauma and general surgical patients. You will work closely with our nursing and allied health professional colleagues to develop and implement effective care pathways, ensuring seamless transitions between hospital and community settings.

You will also be involved in the development of our services, working closely with colleagues to identify areas for improvement and implement changes that enhance patient care and experience.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Geriatrics and general acute medicine, with at least 5 years of clinical experience. You will have a proven track record of leadership and service development, with evidence of effective working relationships and team working.

You will also have a strong understanding of clinical governance, with knowledge of and direct involvement in audit and research. A willingness to contribute to the strategic direction of the Trust and a commitment to ongoing professional development are essential.
