About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Geriatrician to join our team at Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant Geriatrician, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality care to our patients, particularly those with complex and frailty-related conditions.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in Geriatric Medicine, with a minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in the field. You will be responsible for leading and developing our services for older people, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care pathways.

We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about delivering excellent patient care, with a strong focus on teamwork, leadership, and service development. You will be expected to contribute to the strategic direction of the Trust, working collaboratively with our senior leadership team to drive improvements in patient outcomes and experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop our services for older people, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care pathways.
  • Deliver high-quality care to patients with complex and frailty-related conditions, including those with stroke and thrombolysis.
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of the Trust, working collaboratively with our senior leadership team to drive improvements in patient outcomes and experience.
  • Develop and implement effective working relationships and team working, with a focus on leadership and service development.
  • Participate in clinical governance, including audit and research, to ensure high-quality care and patient safety.
