About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Custody Support Specialist to join our team at Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Liaison and Diversion service, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals navigating the criminal justice system.

Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to work in a dynamic and people-centred environment. You will be responsible for providing holistic support to service users, facilitating their access to healthcare services, and promoting their rights and responsibilities. Your empathetic approach and strong communication skills will enable you to build trust with our clients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide emotional support and advocacy to service users, addressing their practical problems and difficulties affecting their health and wellbeing.
  • Facilitate access to healthcare services, including housing, social isolation, education, debt management, and employment support.
  • Collaborate with referring agencies, courts, and probation services to ensure seamless delivery of care.
  • Work autonomously, managing your time effectively to meet delegated workload targets.
Requirements
  • NVQ level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent qualification.
  • A minimum of 12-18 months' relevant experience at band 2/3 level.
  • Full driving license and car ownership, with willingness to travel across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
