Job Overview
Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled Cancer Support Worker to join their team. The successful candidate will work alongside Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialists to register and monitor patients through My Medical Records.
Main Responsibilities
The Cancer Support Worker will be responsible for supporting patients deemed able to self-manage and navigating the complex health and social care system during and following cancer treatment. This will involve using The My Medical Records platform to register and monitor patients.
Key Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, the candidate will need to have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. They will also need to have evidence of good communication skills and experience of working in a healthcare environment. A good understanding of the health and social care environment and experience of working with patients and carers will also be essential.
Person Specification
- GCSE English Language and Mathematics (Grades A-C) or equivalent
- Evidence of learning and development courses
- NVQ level 4 (desirable)
