U-Educate is seeking a Behaviour Support Specialist for a SEMH Secondary School in Basingstoke, RG22.

The Behaviour Support Specialist will work with pupils who need additional support, prioritizing those experiencing multiple disadvantages including challenging behaviour, children with special educational needs, and medical conditions.

This role involves devising, implementing, and evaluating specialized programs to promote social, emotional, and behavioral development. Responsibilities include working with teaching staff to create individual learning plans and planning structured games and activities to support pupils during unstructured times.

Key responsibilities:

  • To develop and implement tailored support programs for pupils with complex needs
  • To collaborate with teaching staff to devise and implement individualized learning plans
  • To plan and facilitate engaging activities to promote social, emotional, and behavioral growth
  • To work effectively with individuals and groups within and outside the classroom setting
  • To monitor pupil progress, adapting approaches as needed, and maintaining records of development and progress
  • To contribute to effective support provision through collaboration with teachers, support staff, and external partners
  • To assist in planning the reintegration of students following exclusion

The ideal candidate will have experience working as a learning mentor or behaviour support assistant, with the ability to pass an enhanced DBS check. They should also possess up-to-date safeguarding training, or be willing to complete a free course provided by U-educate.
