Trade and Export Specialist Role Overview

Ripon Farm Services Ltd. is seeking a skilled Trade and Export Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Used Equipment team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with customers, identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring the successful sale and export of our used equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a sales and marketing plan to maximize opportunities for used equipment sales and exports.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, including trade and export partners, to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Work closely with the Used Equipment team to ensure that all equipment is prepared, revised, displayed, and advertised in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with all import and export requirements, including regulations and documentation.
  • Manage the logistics of trade and export, including the collection and export of trade-in machines and the inclusion of relevant attachments and accessories.
  • Support the development and execution of advertising programs, campaigns, trade shows, and used equipment clinics to promote our used equipment.
  • Monitor inventory turns and aged stock to promote and sell in a timely manner.
  • Support the Company's Used Equipment policies and guidelines on pricing, evaluation, purchasing, and inventory management.
  • Utilize the Company's systems and processes, including dealer management systems and external systems, to gather information and support sales and prospecting activities.

Requirements:

  • Experience in exporting equipment, ideally with a recognized qualification in export of used equipment.
  • Proven sales experience in selling to businesses and traders, and/or experience in an agricultural sales role.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Consummate account management skills.
  • Familiarity with John Deere and competitive products.
  • Proven ability to analyze and interpret internal and external data.
  • Familiarity with statistical and analytical applications of research and data is preferred.
  • Diligent and organized with high levels of attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to be creative and innovative.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to lead and inspire others.
  • High degree of computer literacy with particular proficiency in MS Office programs and ability to use internal systems.
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management skills.
  • Ethical and high integrity with a positive attitude.
