The Rosalind Franklin Institute is a new national Research Centre, dedicated to bringing about transformative changes in life science through interdisciplinary research and technology. We are committed to developing our students to become leading scientists of the future.
This role is key to ensuring that our PhD programme delivers against expectations of funders, students, and the Franklin overall. You will be responsible for building a support network and providing a wide range of training opportunities to give students exposure to a variety of skills and experiences.
As Programme Manager for PhD Students, you will work collaboratively with PhD candidates, their supervisors, and key scheme influencers to continue to build and develop the programme. You will maintain an annual calendar of activities for all cohorts and ensure the smooth running of the programme through all key milestones.
You will also work closely with internal and external stakeholders to communicate progress of key milestones and provide updates on the progress of all cohorts. Additionally, you will meet with PhD students to monitor their wellbeing and achievements and work with supervisors to resolve issues.
This role requires strong project delivery, experience in training programme design and delivery, and the ability to work at pace and meet deadlines. You will also need to be able to communicate well with and work alongside a wide range of colleagues and stakeholders.
We offer a range of benefits, including 25 days holiday, hybrid working, and a generous pension scheme. We are committed to developing our staff and offer training and development opportunities for all levels.
