Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the student journey from application to graduation, providing support and guidance throughout their academic journey.
- Collaborate with PhD candidates, supervisors, and key stakeholders to develop and implement a comprehensive support network for students.
- Design and deliver training programmes to enhance students' skills and experiences, promoting their future career opportunities.
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to communicate programme progress and updates.
- Monitor students' wellbeing and achievements, working with supervisors to resolve any issues that may arise.
- Develop and implement strategies to promote diversity and inclusion in our PhD programme, aligning with our ED&I strategy.
- Build partnerships with academic institutions to deliver the programme and provide challenging opportunities for students.
- Line manage the Training Co-ordinator, ensuring effective programme delivery and student support.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in managing multiple parallel activities and projects, with a strong track record of delivering results.
- Experience in training programme design and delivery, preferably in a scientific or academic environment.
- Understanding of training principles and practice in research, with a focus on student development and support.
- Strong project delivery, analysis, evaluation, and reporting skills.
- Ability to work at pace, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively with a wide range of colleagues and stakeholders.
- Experience working in an academic environment, with a deep understanding of the challenges faced by postgraduate students.
- Flexibility to take on additional tasks, with a calm and composed approach under pressure.
- Commitment to personal development, with a willingness to learn new skills and take on new challenges.
