Mental Health Support Specialist

Carr Gomm is seeking a dedicated individual to provide communication support to vulnerable individuals within the Criminal Justice System.
The role of the Appropriate Adult is to ensure that individuals with mental disorders are not disadvantaged during police processes.
The ideal candidate will have experience in mental health, learning disabilities, dementia, and autism, and be able to work under pressure in an oppressive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide communication support to vulnerable individuals during police investigations
- Work independently and as part of a team to ensure effective communication
- Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including police and social services
- Ensure confidentiality and maintain a non-judgmental attitude
Requirements:
- Experience in mental health, learning disabilities, dementia, and autism
- Ability to work under pressure in an oppressive environment
- Reliability and a non-judgmental attitude
- Availability to attend call-outs within one and a half hours
